Dear families,
Today, I would like for the students to see the attachments for the next lesson, Sílabas con güe, güi in their Phonics notebook, Cuaderno de Fonética. We typically read/sing the song of the week (¡Qué frío!), then read the syllables of the week (güe, güi), and complete the activity in their Cuaderno de Fonética). See photos and video below. Your child is very familiar with the routine. I'm anticipating that you won't have to help out much with this! :)
This is part of our language arts routine. Please encourage your child to spend approximately 60 minutes on language arts activities each day (reading, writing, or word work). This includes reading library books or RAZ kids, phonics, writing in their journals, practicing spelling or vocabulary words in Spanish. We have a lot of resources on Clever!
Finally, encourage your child to spend approximately 60 minutes doing math activities each day. For example, Unit 6 in their math books or packet, practice addition/subtraction or flash cards, play math board games, visit educational sites such as IXL, Prodigy, or any math activity in Clever. Our typical day at school is from 8:25-2:45...we typically do those activities every day in addition to science/social studies, music, PE, art, group work, recess, lunch, etc.
I know this is a difficult time for all of us. Please don't feel that your child must do these activities in one sitting. Also, I understand that some days kids are more willing to cooperate than others. I hope this week is a much better week. I'm working my regular hours 8:00-4:00. Please do not hesitate to reach me with any questions or concerns.
Have a great day! I miss teaching/learning with your child every day :)
