Good morning families! It's Friday! The end of our first week of quarantine. What a surreal time we're living in. I hope that you are all safe, healthy, and feeling positive. I have to admit that this has been an unusual and overwhelming week for me as a mother, a teacher, and a human being with the fear of COVID 19!
After reading your feedback, I decided to start this BLOG to update you on homework assignments and ideas to keep your child engaged in learning. I understand that Google Classroom is too much to handle since our first graders are struggling with typing and what not. Let's not use that for now! However, if the kids want to log into our Classroom stream and leave comments for each other, that's fine with me. I love reading them!
This blog will be bilingual. I wanted the first message to be in English so that you know what to expect going forward.
For today, please ask your child to 1. Read a library book, and write a response in a notebook. We use beginning hook (opening statement), three details, and a closing statement. See my example below (It's in English so that you can see understand it). The kids should know how to do that in Spanish :) They can send me a picture or video of it :)
Then ask your child to do some 2. math on Clever or IXL. Next week I will send lessons/activities to do on our Phonics notebook. From Seño Jocque.
Muchas gracias.
